Jednou jsem jela na kole po své oblíbené trase. V polovině kopce je uprostřed polí místo s výhledem na hrad, který mám ráda, a kde si obvykle dělám přestávku na meditaci. Sedla jsem si tam s tím, že budu hodinu meditovat. Toho dne byl v dálce divný shluk černých mraků. Po nějaké době mě něco přimělo vstát a pobídlo mě k odchodu. Překvapilo mě, že jsem meditovala jen dvacet minut. Chtěla jsem si sednout a pokračovat, ale cítila jsem zvláštní neklid. Usoudila jsem tedy, že soustředění nebude stát za moc, a nasedla jsem na kolo. Jela jsem pomalu domů, dokonce jsem minula odbočku a sjela do města jinou cestou. Začalo foukat, a když jsem dorazila domů a chtěla vyvenčit psa, nebylo to již možné. Vítr se zvedl natolik, že vnitřní dveře vibrovaly, i když jsem měla všechna okna zavřená. Venku byla tma, foukalo a hustě pršelo. Druhý den jsem jela stejnou cestou a nestačila se divit. Na svazích a přes silnici ležely vyvrácené vzrostlé stromy. Cesty byly neprůjezdné. Nemohla jsem se dostat ani ven z lesa. Jela jsem jinou trasou a vždy jsem narazila na další zátarasy, další stromy přes cestu. Byla už tma, když jsem se dostala domů. V jakém nebezpečí jsem mohla být, kdybych se včera o pár minut zpozdila. Uvědomila jsem si, jak jsme chráněni, jak je o nás dobře postaráno. A někdy o tom dokonce ani nevíme. Once, I went for a bicycle ride on my favorite route. Halfway up the hill, there is a spot in the middle of the fields with a view of the castle that I love and where I usually take a meditation break. I sat down there with the expectation that I would meditate for an hour. That day, there was a strange black cluster of clouds in the distance. After some time, something made me get up and urged me to leave. I was surprised that I had only meditated for 20 minutes. I wanted to sit down and continue, but I felt a strange uneasiness. So, I figured that my concentration wouldn’t be worth much and got on my bike. I rode slowly home, even missed a turn and took a different route down to the town. It started to get windy and when I got home and wanted to take my dog-person companion out, I couldn’t. The wind had picked up so much that the inside door was vibrating, even though I had all the windows closed. It was dark outside, windy and pouring heavy rain. The next day, I rode the same way and couldn’t stop wondering. Uprooted mature trees lay on the slopes and across the road. The roads were impassable. I couldn’t even get out of the forest. I took a different route and always encountered other roadblocks, other trees across the road. It was already dark when I got home. What danger I could have been in if I had been a few minutes late yesterday. I realized how protected we are, how well taken care of. And sometimes we don't even know it. Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for Your protection and guidance on my way and on my spiritual path. Thank You, God, for the opportunity to follow Supreme Master.
